Featuring Thermaflow technology, the Seabreeze SF6000TA Smart Contempro takes a lot of the task of fine tuning heat output to its optimum level out of your hands. In the process, it also saves you a bundle on heating costs as it automatically chooses the most appropriate heat setting, fan speed, and thermostat level.
To activate Thermaflow, you need to turn the thermostat dial all the way to the right after powering the heater up, and wait until you feel comfortable with the temperature of the room. Once this is reached, turn the dial back the other way until the light of the right heating element turns off.
Thermaflow automatically switches to a 1,000-watt setting if it senses that room temperature is at the pre-set comfort level. If it drops, on the other hand, it chooses the optimum heat setting between 1,000- and 1,500-watts to deliver up to 5,120 BTUs of heat and maintain the desired heat level.
Along with this, it also adjusts fan speed, rising when there is a need to deliver an extra surge of heated air into the room. Unless there is a need for this surge, the sound is only at the level of a whisper.
The heater is small, measuring only 7.5 inches wide, 9 deep, and 10 high. It is not very obtrusive even when parked on a desk, shelf, or counter. It looks quite plain, being only a box standing on a base having a grille with horizontal slats in front and two indicator lights, a button, and a dial on top.
Both the casing and grille are made of flame-retardant polymer, which means that the heater is lightweight, and that it does not have any exterior metal parts that can turn hot. The casing is colored silver while the grille is darker in charcoal.
Keeping the Seabreeze SF6000TA Smart Contempro Heater safe are a thermal heat protector that turns the heating elements off in case of overheating, and a tip-over switch that also shuts the heater in case it falls over.
