Keeping your home warm and toasty can be costly if you rely solely on your central heating system. Indeed, homeowners are encouraged to keep the thermostats of their central heaters at the lowest possible level without feeling uncomfortably cold. If you are alone in the house, you can even shut it down, use a Honeywell HZ-2302 Electric Space instead, and save substantially on your heating bills.
The HZ-2302 features three heat settings with each having different levels of wattage –1,500 W for high, 900 W for medium, and 600 W for low. At 1,500 watts, the heater delivers 5,120 BTUs which can quickly warm a small or even medium sized room. A "fan" only setting is incorporated with the heater so you can also use it for cooling during warm months. Adjustment of these settings is accomplished with a child-proofed switch that requires you to push it down before it can be turned on.
Once the desired heat level is reached, you can set your thermostat by rotating it counter-clockwise until the heater shuts down. It is this temperature that the heater will attempt to maintain by automatically turning itself on or off depending on mercury levels.
With the heater's multiple safety features, you can be confident that nothing untoward will happen while you operate it. In addition to the child-proof switch, it also has a tip-over safety switch that shuts the heater if it is accidentally knocked down. An overheat sensor also turns the heater off if it senses excessively high temperatures. To back this up, a thermal circuit breaker is also installed.
These features come in a black compact VO-rated plastic casing measuring 8" W x 5" D x 12" H. It weighs a mere 6 lbs. making it easy to carry from one room to the next. The front panel includes a powerful oscillator that swings 90° thus distributing warm air evenly across the room. Warm air is fan-forced through grilles on the front panel into the room.
