You will only need to detach its feet along with their ball casters, and use the supplied mounting brackets and screws to fasten it to your wall. Without the feet, the heater is only 1 inch thick. It is also lightweight so you need not worry about it falling off.
The option of installing the heater on the wall is especially appreciated by those living in small and cramped areas because it saves on space, and by those with overactive children or pets who might constantly run into it. While it does have a tip-over switch, frequent bashing and falling can cause premature ruin.
Relying on micathermic heating elements, the DeLonghi HMP1500 emits both convection and radiant or reflective heat. With the former, heated air around the heating elements floats out into the room, eventually filling it with warm and cozy air.
At the same time, it also provides infrared heat directly heating you and other solid objects even if ambient air is still cold. This heat is then reflected into the air thus speeding up the heating of the entire room. It can actually heat a room faster than most oil-filled radiators, though this cannot be said of fan-assisted heaters.
As the heater relies on convection, it does not have a fan. The result is that the heater runs quietly, it does not affect moisture in the room, and neither does it stir up dust or other allergens. This is also the reason why it is possible to construct the heater with only an inch of thickness.
The DeLonghi HMP1500 Mica Panel Heater is equipped with a built-in thermostat allowing you to fine-tune temperature levels. It also has two heat settings –high, at 1,500 watts and low at 750 watts.
