Designed with a slim front, although with an extended depth, the Boston 25986 Floor-Upright Space Heater can easily fit into tight spaces, provided that it is safely away from combustible materials, such as curtains or stacks of paper, and there is enough room around it for air to be drawn in. Air is sucked into the heater through round openings on its side and blown out at the front. The front consists of louvers that can be oriented upwards, thus you can even install it on the floor under your desk.
Inside the white plastic casing of the Boston space heater is a powerful 1,500-watt motor capable of generating enough heat to turn medium to large rooms into cozy and toasty cocoons. When ambient temperature is not too low, you can opt for a lower heat setting to save on your heating bills.
In addition to the two heat settings, you can also control and fine tune temperature levels with the heater's thermostat. As soon as your desired temperature is reached, the machine shuts down, only to come alive again when temperature falls noticeably below the set desired level.
Heat generated by the machine is transferred into the room with the help of a fan. Like the heater's motor, the fan also has two settings –high and low. You can even use the fan without turning the heating elements on, allowing you to use it for cooling during the warm months. It has, however, only one speed setting when used this way.
Heat settings, fan only mode, and temperature levels can be set via the two large gray dials mounted at the top of the machine. Their color complements the heater's white casing and black louver at the front.
The fans are quiet, emitting only a soft purr as it busily moves heated air into the room.
